This link I found to be helpful and full of resources and statistics because it talks about how social media has changed over the course of the years. It has current information and other links that talk about the same information. All of this information has come from those that have studied and followed this topic and have wrote books on. The information covered in this article helps me identify some new perspectives and gives me great insight on some of the things I hope to present in my paper. I feel this article is going to be beneficial and has passed the CRAAP test.

This article is someone’s opinion but I think they are highly credible because are part of communities that focus on this topic. This article passes the CRAAP test because it is related to the time period, approaches the same audience, it also had accuracy because even though it has opinions they have pretty good statistics that help capture the readers and are focused toward the parental group.

This article is helpful because it completely directed to the effects that social media, specifically Facebook, has on society. This article covers topics such has merging societies, isolating individuals, and communication patterns. This article also passes the CRAAP test in that the topic and things covered are completely related to this time period. It also speaks to the audience that I am looking to communicate to. Lastly, it has the same purpose and points that I am looking to incorporate into my paper. 

Phase 2

My topic is how social media affects today’s society.

I am picking this topic because social media is such a popular source that our societies is a part of. I also am going to see if the rise of these social media sites is beneficial or if it is hurting society.

Some things I already know are millions of people use social media to connect with friends, family, businesses, and celebrities. I also know that it has grown over the years and has become more popular, has helped and hurt people.

I am hoping to gain more knowledge on how people use social media and how this technology causes us to loose some manners.

The audience this paper will be addressed to is teens and parents. 

How does technology affect society today?

1. Since technology is such a growing resource people have adapted to it and have changed the way we do things. It has expanded the business world and has been beneficial to society. However, along with the change I feel that it has been a good thing but also a harmful thing. Some questions I hope to answer are how does technology affect people today. Trying to figure out how it can hurt society, what manners have we lost, and how the change in technology effects the wants that people have.
